Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport hitting a new high in several indicators during this year’s Spring Festival travel rush

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to the preliminary statistics, during this year’s Spring Festival travel rush (from January 14 to February 22, lasting for 40 days), Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport saw 6,118,300 passenger trips and 39,900 flights taking off and landing safely, both setting historical records, up 6.3% and 5.5% year-on-year respectively; the passenger load factor of departure flights reached 87.8%, making the airport rank among the top 10 airports nationwide. Over 1,000 flights operated daily from February 1 to February 10; over 160,000 passenger trips were made daily from February 1 to February 7, in which the daily passenger trips reached 166,000 and 168,000 on February 3 and February 4 respectively, breaking the record made since the opening of the airport to air traffic.
To meet the travel demand of passengers, during this year’s Spring Festival travel rush, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport actively coordinated with airlines to increase the frequency of several popular flights. More flights were added on over 30 popular domestic passenger routes from to Chongqing to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Haikou, Xi’an, Xiamen, Harbin, Urumqi, Hohhot, Jinan, Lanzhou, Beihai, Yinchuan, Kashgar, Lijiang, Dali, Xishuangbanna, etc. In terms of outbound tourist routes, routes from Chongqing to Tokyo and Kuching were launched or resumed, tourist chartered routes from Chongqing to Chiengmai and Koh Samui were launched, and routes from Chongqing to Phuket and Ho Chi Minh saw more flights added, including 34 international (regional) passenger routes on service, with about 190 flights operated per week.
Jiangbei Airport plans to resume the route from Chongqing to Moscow, and add more flights on routes from Chongqing to Osaka, Bangkok, Hong Kong, etc., continuing to offer travel convenience for passengers and sparing no efforts to accelerate the construction of its international aviation hub.
