CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Despite the end of the Spring Festival holiday, the enthusiasm for travel among Chongqing residents remains high. Recently, the Mexin Wine Town scenic area in Fuling, about an hour’s drive from the downtown, has been bustling with visitors. The area has become a popular destination for short-distance trips, rural tourism, self-driving tours, and family outings, all experiencing a mini-boom in post-holiday travel.

As spring returns, the landscape is filled with vibrant life. Red plum blossoms are in full bloom, trees provide ample shade, and the entire area radiates the fresh energy of the season. Many tourists have seized the opportunity of the bright spring sunshine to visit and enjoy the beautiful spring scenery.

“By 10 a.m., we were already at the scenic area, bringing our two kids along. One of them is in kindergarten, the other in elementary school, so we thought it would be a great idea to take them out for some fun before school starts again,” said visitor Li Xiaoqin.

At the halfway point up the mountain, a long queue can be seen forming for the Cable Car Loop Line 1. This cable car is the scenic area’s first line, offering amusement rides, plum blossom viewing, and scenic sights along the way. The ride takes about 10 minutes one way and ends at a viewing platform, offering panoramic views of the entire area. For many visitors, riding the cable car is a unique way to take in the landscape. “I love red plum blossoms. Every year when they bloom, I dress in Hanfu and come to take photos. The flowers in the Mexin Wine Town have bloomed earlier than usual this year, and the weather is perfect. Riding the cable car to see the plum blossoms makes me feel so happy,” said Zhang Li, another visitor.

The cable car park spans nearly ten kilometers, with nine main routes and several secondary lines. With an investment of over 200 million yuan, it showcases various cable car styles from around the world, including basket, cabin, chairlift, eagle, and flying house rides. Starting from the visitor center, the routes extend to nearby picturesque villages, stimulating the sale of local agricultural products and greatly improving the convenience of travel for residents.
