CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- In the morning of February 10, a China-Central Aria cargo train loaded with ZTE communication equipment departed from Tuanjiecun Railway Station in Chongqing, would leave China through Helgas port, pass through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and finally arrive at Hairatan, Afghanistan. This is the first rail-rail intermodal train departing from Chongqing to Afghanistan, marking the first successful departure of the special cargo train to Afghanistan made by ZTE and the further expansion of the route of Chongqing China-Central Aria Railway Express, and creating a new land corridor for the economy and trade cooperation between China and Afghanistan.

It is learned that this cargo train, loaded with 55 40-feet containers, is expected to arrive at Hairatan, Afghanistan in 12-15 days. The equipment on the train will be used to support the local communication network construction to boost the local socio-economic development.

“In the past, this batch of cargoes had to be transited via highway, but now, according to the transportation plan of a direct cargo train service from Chongqing to Afghanistan made by Yuxinou based on our needs, the transportation duration will be shortened by 3-5 days compared to highways, and logistics costs are expected to be reduced by 15%-20%, which will provide a strong support for ensuring the safe and timely arrival of cargo,” said the relevant person in charge of ZTE, adding “ZTE will continue to strengthen the strategic cooperation with the Chongqing China-Europe and China-Central Asia Railway Express, and export ZTE’s communication products to Central Asia in a larger volume and more types by taking Chongqing as the business hub center.” (Translated by Jane, Fathom Language Limited)
