One of the city's most iconic landmarks, Hongyadong, continues to captivate visitors with its traditional stilted buildings, a signature feature of the Bayu architectural style. Tourists flock to the site, especially in the evening, to admire its stunning nightscape. Mr. Zhang, visiting from Beijing with his family, shared, “I’ve always wanted to see the night view of Hongyadong. With the winter holiday, I finally have the time to bring my kids here and experience the charm of Chongqing.”

Similarly, Ciqikou Ancient Town, another popular destination in Chongqing, has seen a significant rise in visitors during the holiday season. The quaint streets, with their nostalgic atmosphere, are bustling with tourists. Ms. Wang, visiting from Wuhan with her family, enjoyed a stroll along the cobblestone paths. “I wanted to give my kids a chance to experience traditional culture during the holidays,” she said. “Ciqikou is full of local charm, and it offers a unique opportunity for them to engage with the distinct cultural essence of Bayu.”

At the same time, Golden Buddha Mountain in Nanchuan District has also drawn large crowds. Since the launch of the 26th Golden Buddha Mountain Snow Festival in mid-November 2024, nearly 6,000 students from local schools have visited the scenic area as part of their winter educational trips. This year, the scenic area has seen a 49% increase in visitors compared to last winter, along with a 42% rise in tourism revenue. Li Ling, a visitor from Guang'an, Sichuan, brought her two children for a 3.5-hour drive to experience the “winter wonderland” at Golden Buddha Mountain. The snow festival has become a major draw for families, with the school-age group notably contributing to this winter’s tourism boom.
