CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 2025 Spring Festival travel rush officially kicked off on January 14. In response to the growing travel demand, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport has taken proactive steps to improve passenger experience, including coordinating with 15 airlines, such as Air China, Sichuan Airlines, Chongqing Airlines, West Air, and China Express, to increase the number of flights by up to 54 per day ahead of the peak season.

According to the latest data, the added capacity is focused not only on traditional popular destinations, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou, but also on tourist destinations like Xishuangbanna, Urumqi, Sanya, Zhuhai, and Dali, significantly enriching travel options for passengers flying in and out of Chongqing.

On the international (regional) front, Air China will resume its Chongqing-Tokyo route, operating three flights per week starting January 26. Chongqing Airlines will add new routes to Phuket (four flights per week from January 18 to February 9) and Ho Chi Minh City (three flights per week from January 21 to February 8). West Air will also introduce a daily flight from Chongqing to Phuket from January 15 to February 7. Thai Lion Air will operate charter flights on the Chongqing-Chiang Mai route, with four flights between January 20 and February 4. Bangkok Airways will add three charter flights on the Chongqing-Samui Island route from January 26 to February 5. It’s worth noting that during the Spring Festival travel rush, the airport will operate an average of over 30 wide-body flights per day, double the usual number. These larger aircraft, mainly serving popular routes between Chongqing and Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Sanya, etc., will offer passengers a more spacious and comfortable flying experience.

To ensure smooth and convenient transfers between terminals, Jiangbei International Airport has optimized the shuttle bus schedule, with the following arrangements:
From January 14 to February 22, 2025, the shuttle bus frequency will be adjusted flexibly according to passenger demand during different time periods.

00:00–02:00: Every 30 minutes
02:00–05:00: Every 60 minutes
05:00–07:00: Every 30 minutes
07:00–09:00: Every 15 minutes
09:00–17:00: Every 30 minutes
17:00–18:00: Every 15 minutes
18:00–00:00: Every 30 minutes
