Floral art welcomes the New Year with bright colors!

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, a vibrant array of potted flowers in various shapes and colors greeted visitors at the Chongqing Zoo, capturing the attention of everyone entering the zoo.

“I’ve been looking forward to this exhibition for a long time," said Ms. Li, a local resident. “I heard there would be many exquisite floral  arrangements and potted plants, so I rushed to bring my family here as soon as it opened. It's a wonderful way to kick off the New Year and soak in some artistic atmosphere!”

This exhibition, titled 2025 Chongqing Spring Floral Art and Potted Plant Exhibition, is guided by the Chongqing Municipal Urban Management Bureau, the Chongqing Flower and Bonsai Association and the Chongqing Zoo Management Department, and organized by Chongqing Fengcai Landscaping Consulting Co., Ltd. It will run from now until January 5, 2025.

The exhibition features 102 works of art, including 60 floral arrangements and 42 potted plant compositions. These creations come from a wide range of talented individuals, including students and faculty from Chongqing’s universities, professionals from landscaping and floral industries, and flower art enthusiasts. Many of the participants have won awards at local, national, and even international floral art competitions, showcasing a high level of expertise, according to the event organizer.

In addition to the general submissions, the exhibition also features 11 works by six floral art masters from the Chongqing Flower and Bonsai Association, 21 pieces from university students and faculty, 10 from landscaping management organizations, 25 from floral businesses, 24 from landscaping companies, and 11 from floral enthusiasts, all of which have been carefully arranged and displayed.

Floral art experts have evaluated the pieces based on their design, creativity, color, technique, focal points, and thematic coherence. The awards included 10 Gold Prizes, 16 Silver Prizes, and 10 Bronze Prizes for flower arrangements; and 8 Gold Prizes, 12 Silver Prizes, and 8 Bronze Prizes for potted plant compositions.
