CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On December 16, at the press conference for the 2025 Chongqing Women’s Half Marathon, it was announced that the race would take place at 7:30 AM on March 23, 2025, with the starting gun fired at the Likely Wharf in Jiangbei District. Registration is now open and will close on January 15, 2025. This year, the event will welcome 15,000 participants, setting a new record for the race.

The event will feature three categories: the Half Marathon (8,000 participants), the Mini Run (3,000 participants), and the Parent-Child Run (4,000 participants). The race is organized by the Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Sports, the People's Government of Jiangbei District, the Chongqing Women’s Federation, and the Chongqing Broadcasting Group. The Jiangbei Commission of Culture and Tourism Development and the Jiangbei Women’s Federation will handle the event's operations.

According to a representative from the Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Sports, this race is the first women’s marathon in China to receive the World Athletics Elite Label, a prestigious designation. The 2025 Chongqing Women’s Half Marathon promises three key upgrades: an enhanced race experience, improved services, and a broader impact. Local authorities in Jiangbei have highlighted that the event will be held along the district's most scenic waterfront road, with runners passing by iconic landmarks such as the Xiangguo Temple Riverside Park, Panxi River Riverside Park, and Jiangbeizui Riverside Park.

In addition, prizes will be awarded to the top 100 finishers in the Half Marathon category. Runners who complete the half marathon in under 1 hour, 12 minutes, and 55 seconds will receive an additional cash prize of 5,000 yuan.

Runners can register for the event through the Chongqing Women’s Half Marathon official WeChat account and website, the Digital Heartbeat App, the Yukuaiban App, or the official WeChat account of the Chongqing Jiangbei Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd.
