CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Last weekend, the 2024 Chongqing Bishan Marathon officially kicked off at Dream World Water Park. The city of Bishan, where history intertwines with modernity and technology blends seamlessly with culture, welcomed over 15,000 running enthusiasts to the park course, where they shared the thrill of competition and enjoyed the stunning scenery of Bishan.

Certified by the Chinese Athletics Association and guided by the Chongqing Sports Bureau, the event is jointly hosted by the People's Government of Bishan District and the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League.

The race featured three categories: the full marathon, the half marathon, and the public health run. Participants from all three groups weaved their way along lush green tracks like a flowing ribbon. They sweated it out and unleashed their passion on the course.

Notably, the Bishan Marathon is one of the few marathons in China centered around the theme of city parks. This year, runners started at Bishan People's Square, passing through iconic and picturesque spots like Xiuhu Park, Binan River Green Corridor, Guanyintang Wetland Park, and Fengxiang Lake Children's Park. These scenic routes unfolded before them like a vibrant landscape painting. The course, which connects the beauty of the parks with the city's cultural landmarks, offered participants an immersive experience of Bishan's ecological charm and urban allure. It perfectly showcased the open, inclusive, active, and healthy spirit of the Bishan Marathon.

Runner Coach Chen shared his experience: "Running on the tree-lined course, drenched in sweat, felt incredibly refreshing and satisfying. My steps were strong and light, and before I knew it, I had crossed the finish line."
