CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- “You stayed with me throughout the process, offering assistance with the refund and handling all the follow-ups. Your professionalism and patience ensured the smooth completion of the entire refund process…” These are the words of gratitude from Ms. Cui, a Chinese-American woman who recently sent a heartfelt handwritten thank-you letter to Liu Aijun, a community police officer from the Cuntan Police Station under the Jiangbei Public Security Bureau in Chongqing.
Recalling the moment when he first received the letter, Liu Aijun said, “At first, I didn’t fully realize what it was. Then I saw it was a bilingual thank-you letter...” Liu was involved in resolving a complex refund issue in June at a merchandise trading center in the Chongqing Free Trade Zone.
On June 25, the Cuantan Police Station received a distress call from Ms. Cui, who explained that during her travel in Chongqing, on a moment of impulse, she had bought a jade item worth over ¥200,000 at a shopping center in the Free Trade Zone.
However, after leaving Chongqing, Ms. Cui began to regret the purchase. Fortunately, the store offered a return policy with no-questions-asked refunds, which allowed her to consider a return. Given the substantial amount of money involved, Ms. Cui was concerned about the process. Feeling uncertain, she decided to call the police for assistance, hoping for guidance and help with the refund.
After receiving the call, Liu Aijun, a dedicated community officer, quickly contacted Ms. Cui to determine a suitable time for her to return to Chongqing and accompanied her through the entire refund process. Ms. Cui was deeply relieved and touched by the experience. She had initially feared that her request might be complicated or delayed. Still, the seller honored their commitment to the full refund, and everything was resolved swiftly and to her satisfaction. Ms. Cui was deeply moved by the integrity of businesses and the helpfulness of local law enforcement.
"I didn't expect the refund to be completed so soon. The police in Chongqing and indeed in China, are so responsible and reliable!” Back in the United States, Ms. Cui could not contain her gratitude. She sent the thank-you letter across the Pacific Ocean to Liu Aijun, expressing her appreciation for his efforts. She also personally messaged him, saying, “Chinese police really gave me a sense of security!” (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
