CHONGQING (CANEWS) -- On December 2, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism launched a captivating event under the series “Tourism Makes Life Better - Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor”: “Following the Broadcasters to Explore Chongqing”. Over the next five days, radio hosts from Chongqing and Sichuan will guide audiences through an unforgettable journey across the Chongqing segment of the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor.
The journey will begin with a visit to some of Chongqing's most iconic urban landmarks, including Jiefangbei, the city’s historic commercial hub and symbol of its dynamic past and present; Hongyadong, often dubbed the “Chinese version of Spirited Away”; Ciqikou Ancient Town, a picturesque enclave steeped in the rich heritage of Bayu culture; and the famed viewing platform of Liziba Rail Station, where the train seemingly passes through a building.
On December 3, the group will journey to Nantian Lake in Fengdu County. Nestled among highland forests, Nantian Lake offers a breathtaking retreat known for its tranquil waters, lush greenery, and year-round scenic beauty. Here, the broadcasters will guide participants through this ecological haven, inviting them to savor the serene landscape, where mist-covered hills meet the mirror-like lake.
On December 4, the group will venture into Taohuayuan (Peach Blossom Land) in Youyang County. This destination promises an authentic experience of the unspoiled rural beauty of China’s Wuling Mountains. Visitors will uncover the rich cultural history and ethnic traditions of the Tujia and Miao peoples, enjoying a harmonious blend of natural wonders and human heritage.
The trip will reach its pinnacle with a visit to the breathtaking Golden Buddha Mountain scenic area, located just south of Nanchuan District on the southern edge of Chongqing. On December 5, the group will be treated to the area's unique winter wonderland, where snow-covered landscapes create an enchanting experience. Later that day, the group will explore the Black Valley scenic area in Wansheng, renowned for its towering mountains, dense forests, and crisscrossing rivers and streams. The valley boasts pristine vegetation, rare flora and fauna, and exceptionally high negative oxygen ion content, providing visitors a refreshing escape from urban life, an opportunity to breathe deeply and rejuvenate amidst the tranquility of nature.
On December 6, the tour culminated with an in-depth exploration of Songgai Ancient Town in Yongchuan, the final stop of this journey. This historic town stands out for its unique charm, encapsulated in its “Three Purities and Seven Wonders”. The “Three Purities” refer to its serene atmosphere, immaculate stone-paved streets, and the fresh breeze from the Yangtze River. The “Seven Wonders” include its cluster of Ming and Qing dynasty architecture, ancestral halls and temples (exemplified by the Luo Family Ancestral Hall and Chen Family Ancestral Hall), a winding 5-kilometer stone pathway, the legendary Confucius Tomb, the ancient county government office, the Chen Gong Weir, and Wenzhong Dam - the largest sandbank on the upper Yangtze River and the lowest point in Yongchuan.
According to the event organizers, this trip is designed to showcase the grandeur of Chongqing's natural landscapes and the depth of its cultural heritage through the unique perspectives of broadcasters, drawing more visitors to experience the irresistible charm of the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor.
