CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On the evening of November 28, the “Chongqing Tourist Train” heading to Northeast China departed from Chongqingxi Railway Station. This train offered a 13-day special ice and snow tourism itinerary, passing through several cities including Shenyang, Yanji, Xuexiang, Yabuli, Harbin and Handan.

The train was fully equipped with themed soft sleeper cabins, designed to meet various and diverse consumer needs of tourists for railway travel, specialty dining on board, hotel accommodations, and sightseeing tours. The second “Chongqing Tourist Train” is expected to depart on December 26.

The “Chongqing Tourist Train” offers several unique tourism services. In terms of accommodation, in addition to the themed boutique tourist train, it also provides access to hotels rated three or four diamonds based on online reviews; as for cuisine, passengers can enjoy Northeast specialty dishes throughout the journey, including roasted duck, Korean-style meals, snow fungus and toad soup, the snow goose feast, dishes prepared with pork, and dishes stew in iron pot; additionally, tourists can visit some famous tourist attractions such as the venue for the Asian Winter Games, Harbin Central Street, and the fairy-tale snow town; tourists can also enjoy the services provided by dedicated train butlers and accompaniment from staff throughout the journey.

In addition, to boost consumption and fully show cultural tourism resources, the train set up the special display and sales area for Chongqing’s intangible cultural heritage and "360 Bowls of Chongqing Flavors” display and sales area in the carriage.

In the display and sales areas for intangible cultural heritage, traditional techniques such as making of Chongqing Jinguyuan Fushi noodles, Chongqing lacquerware painting, Chen Changyin's fried dough twists, making of Fengsheng roasted dried tofu, traditional production of Baishiyi pressed salted ducks, making of Dazhu pickled vegetables, and making of dragon lantern are showcased and sold on the train; in the "360 Bowls of Chongqing Flavors” display and sales area, dishes such as Zhang Yazi marinated and roasted ducks, Rongchang marinated goose, Fuling fermented glutinous rice, Jiangjin Lianhuashi pickled vegetables, and steamed buns stuffed with Brasenia schreberi are displayed.
