CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- In early winter, over 2,000 mu of tea-oil camellia flowers (Camellia oleifera Abel) in Qianjiang District are in full bloom. The pure white sea of flowers, reminiscent of freshly fallen snow, blankets the mountains, injecting the winter landscape with boundless vitality.

Tea-oil camellia flowers have exceptional ornamental value and signal a bountiful harvest for the camellia oil industry. As an important economic crop, tea-oil camellia fruits produce high-quality edible oil which is rich in nutritional value and in high demand in the market. This year, the 2,000-mu tea-oil camellia plantation in Qianjiang is expected to yield a bumper crop, with an estimated output value of over five million yuan. It will benefit more than 1,000 local households, who will increase their income through land transfers or nearby employment opportunities.
