CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The construction of the Liaojiaxi Rail Transit Bridge, a key component of Chongqing’s Rail Transit Line 15, is nearing a significant milestone as of November 20. The upper beam of the bridge is nearing completion and is expected to be completed and connected by the end of this year.
The Liao Jiaxi Rail Transit Bridge is a critical infrastructure project for CRT Line 15. Spanning across the Jialing River, the bridge connects Jingkou Station to Lixuelu Station and stretches 805.5 meters in length. Notably, it is the first rail bridge in China to feature a cutting-edge steel inclined bracing beam-arch combination system.
CRT Line 15, the city’s first urban rapid transit line, covers approximately 32.8 kilometers for its Phase II project, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
Once completed, the project will efficiently link key areas such as the Western (Chongqing) Science City, Lijia, and Longsheng New Town, greatly enhancing the city’s public transportation network and meeting the growing demands of its residents. (Photographed by Long Fan / Visual Chongqing)
