CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On November 13, the 2024 Joint Innovation Development Conference for the Logistics Industry in the Greater Southwest Region was held in Chongqing. During the conference, Jia Liansheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Hub Group, delivered a keynote presentation, introducing the Chongqingdong Railway Station Hub New City.

Chongqingdong Railway Station, located in the Chayuan area in Nan'an District, serves as a pilot project for integrated station-city development under the initiative building the country with great transport strength, and also the current largest integrated transportation hub under construction in China, merging four major transportation networks. Construction of Chongqingdong Railway Station is progressing steadily, expected to be completed and put into service by 2025.

Jia Liansheng introduced that the development scope of the core area in front of the Chongqingdong Railway Station Hub New City, covers an area 2.5 square kilometers, and utilizes a new generation of station-city integrated form "One Tower, One Ring, One Station", including the 260-meter landmark tower, the Ring Valley Shopping Park, and Chongqingdong Railway Station. It will be built into an international exchange center and a TOD exemplar, based on transportation hub function, integrating international exchanges, commercial business, application innovation, and high-quality living areas.

To promote the development of the core area in front of the station, Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Hub Group has outlined a total construction area of 257,000 square meters for the first phase of development, including 140,000 square meters of building area, based in industries closely related to the high-speed rail hub, such as hotels, conferences, exhibitions, and forums, supported by themed streets. According to the plan, the first phase of the core area will be under construction in June 2025, when Chongqingdong Railway Station is open to traffic.

In terms of transportation infrastructure, in the core area of the Chongqingdong Railway Station Hub New City, 'five vertical and six horizontal' main roads are under construction, integrating four rail lines: Lines 6, 8, 24, and 27. These are expected to be completed and put into operation gradually starting in 2025. In the future, core area will enable access within 30 minutes to Jiangbei International Airport, Cuntan Bonded Port Area, Nanpeng Highway Logistics Base, as well as core business districts in the central urban areas, including Jiefangbei, Guanyinqiao, and Chongqingbei Railway Station.
