Programming masters from universities "competing" in Chongqing

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 10th China Collegiate Programming Contest (CCPC) was held at Chongqing University from November 9 to 10, marking the first national level programming competition held in the Chongqing region.
This competition attracted 313 teams from universities such as Peking University, Zhejiang University, and Fudan University, as well as from secondary schools like Nankai Middle School, Chongqing No. 8 Secondary School, and Yucai Secondary School, with over 1,100 students and coaches involved. During this five-hour competition, all teams show their high level of professionalism and teamwork spirit.
After ten years of development, the CCPC has become one of the largest and most influential programming competitions in China, as well as an annual academic competition for university students across the country. It not only interests student in obtaining computer science knowledge and skills, but also effectively enhances their comprehensive abilities and practical skills, contributing to the cultivation of a large number of outstanding information technology talents for the country.
In 2023, nearly 1,500 teams from more than 320 universities participated in the CCPC online competition, and 1,254 teams from 316 universities participated in four national competitions, a women's competition, and a vocational competition of the 9th China Collegiate Programming Contest. Ultimately, 131 teams from 114 universities advanced to the finals to be held in Chengdu at the end of March 2024.
In the first half of 2024, the CCPC organized 19 provincial and invitational competitions. In the second half of the year, it plans to hold special competitions for female participants and vocational college students, as well as national competitions in four cities: Harbin, Zhengzhou, Jinan, and Chongqing.
Chongqing University is one of the first universities in China to conduct computer research, and is a key base for scientific research and talent cultivation in the field of information science. In recent years, the university has deeply implemented the Elite Student Cultivation Program for Fundamental Disciplines 2.0, and relying on the School of Computer Science and Hongshen Honors School, it has achieved significant results in the cultivation of top computer talents. The holding of this competition provides students with a platform to showcase their skills and challenge themselves, which will further stimulate their innovative thinking and practical abilities.
In the end, a total of 28 teams won gold award, 56 teams won silver award, and 83 teams won bronze award. Among them, the team from Sun Yat-sen University won the championship, while the teams from Peking University and Hangzhou Dianzi University won the runner up and third place respectively.
