CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- By midnight on October 30, over 500,000 event-related products for theme parks and popular tourist spots during Double 11 had been sold, surpassing last year’s total sales for the event, according to information from Fliggy. Notably, reservation rates for some leading park brand packages have hit an impressive 90%, and ski season travel packages have exceeded a 40% booking rate.
Data from Fliggy reveals that the official flagship stores of nine major brands, including Shanghai Disney Resort, Chimelong Tourist, Hong Kong Disneyland, Wuzhen Tourist, and Huangshan Tourist, have all achieved transaction volumes that eclipse their entire sales from last year’s Double 11. These attractions have strategically rolled out travel packages that combine discounted tickets, accommodations, and dining offers, catering to diverse consumer needs and encouraging planning for travel in the upcoming months.
As ski resorts across China gear up for the commencement of the ski season, both outdoor and indoor ski venues are witnessing a surge in popularity as travelers make early arrangements during Double 11. Notably, Chongqing Bonski has introduced universal packages such as "Hotel Accommodation + Ski Resort Tickets" in eight cities nationwide starting from just 499 yuan. The brand's flagship store on Fliggy has seen a more than 30% increase in transaction volume compared to last year’s total. Well-known ski resorts, like Vanke Songhua Lake Resort, are offering customizable “Accommodation + Skiing” packages, with reservation rates for some packages soaring past 40%.
Relaxing river and international cruises continue to be a hit with consumers. Fliggy reports that Double 11 sales for renowned cruise brands such as Royal Caribbean Cruises, MSC Cruises, and Adora Cruises have surged beyond last year's already impressive rebound, with transactions now exceeding the previous year’s entire Double 11 period.
Chongqing’s scenic spots are also joining the Double 11 frenzy with special deals. The Mexin Wine Town Scenic Area in Fuling, Chongqing, is offering various discounts. Visitors can take advantage of reduced rates on amusement attractions and accommodations. For instance, Jigongshan Amusement Park provides a dual ticket worth 210 yuan for just 99 yuan. Additionally, river-view homestays along the Yangtze River now offer online bookings for "any room type" that include complimentary afternoon tea or BBQ, enhancing the stay experience. These deals allow consumers to purchase vacation packages at Mexin Wine Town Scenic Area affordably and flexibly, enjoying a comprehensive vacation experience encompassing leisure, dining, lodging, and entertainment.
Chen Yadi, the e-commerce operation director of Century Cruises, highlights the brand’s strong performance, noting that their first-day sales during Double 11 surpassed the total from last year’s event. Chen believes river cruise travel remains a niche market in China but sees Double 11 as an opportunity to raise awareness about the appeal of river cruising, particularly on scenic routes like the Three Gorges.
"Double 11 serves as a barometer for our future sales," says Chen. "A successful sales outcome boosts the entire company's morale." (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
