Chongqing-Kuala Lumpur service increased to 11 weekly flights

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The year of 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia. On October 16, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport announced that AirAsia launched a new route connecting Chongqing and Kuala Lumpur in the early hours of that day. With the addition of Xiamen Airlines’ 7 weekly flights, Chongqing-Kuala Lumpur service has been increased to a total of 11 weekly flights.
It is noted that Chongqing-Kuala Lumpur route operated by AirAsia uses Airbus A330 and plans to run 4 flights per week. The outbound flight D7809 is scheduled to depart from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at 02:00 and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 07:10. The return flight D7808 is scheduled to leave Kuala Lumpur at 19:35 and arrive in Chongqing at 00:45 the following day (all times are local).
Kuala Lumpur is an international metropolis that blends Eastern and Western cultures, featuring modern skyscrapers while well-preserving the distinct cultural characteristics of various ethnic groups. Furthermore, passengers arriving in Kuala Lumpur can easily connect to other Malaysian cities such as Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Ipoh, and Langkawi through AirAsia flights.
It is also noteworthy that Malaysia will extend its visa-free policy for Chinese citizens until the end of 2026.
Currently, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport operates 29 international (regional) passenger routes, with 150 weekly flights connecting to cities such as Seattle, London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, Milan, Budapest, Sydney, Doha, Dubai, Singapore, Seoul, and Osaka, effectively establishing an international route network covering Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
