CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- At 12:00 on October 8, at Jinsha Times Community, Shapingba District, a Meituan fast food deliver, Peng Longkui parked his vehicle in the Community, the security guard saw a special logo on his chest, and immediately opened the access control for him.

However, the fast food deliver who wanted to enter any community must be stopped by security guard.

Thanks to a pilot reform, such change appeared.

In May this year, Shapingba District decided the country’s first “fast food deliver-friendly district”, to create “fast food deliver-friendly communities”, “fast food deliver-friendly campuses” and other friendly scenes, and Jinsha Times Community is one of the pilots.

The so-called “fast food deliver-friendly” means to deploy maps and allow fast food delivers to enter the neighborhood ground floor garage access and “open the door” for them as far as possible.

Take Jinsha Times Community as an example. At the place where is 100m away from the entrance, there are “takeaway parking spaces” for fast food delivers, and they can accommodate 4-5 electric motorcycles at the same time; an eye-catching sign of “fast food deliver-friendly district” map is erected at the intersection, on which various information required by them when delivering goods is marked, including the location of community entrances and exits, building numbers, and temporary resting spots.

“Such considerable service items save about 10 minutes for us,” said Zhang Daru, a fast food deliver.

“At present, Shapingba District has designated more than 400 special parking spaces and temporary parking spaces for fast food delivers, and set up 36 additional charging service facilities and 750 charging piles.” Huang Song, Deputy Minister of the Social Work Department of the CPC Shapingba District Committee, said.

“The difficulty in entering the door” is a conflict between security guards and fast food delivers on the surface, and it is essentially a question of how grass-roots governance can keep abreast of the times, which requires the cooperation among the district, property management, platforms and delivery stations, and a regular communication and collaboration mechanism.

Currently, there are more than 5,000 “fast food deliver-friendly districts” in China, covering more than 100 communities in Banan District, Shapingba District and Jiangbei District of Chongqing Municipality. (Translated by Vichy, Fathom Language Limited)
