CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- During the National Day holiday, Chongqing released many initiatives to for tourists. Qiansimen Jialing River Bridge “was closed to traffic” for tourists, and the “climbing elevator” allowed tourists to easily climb the mountain, receiving a unanimous praise.
The reporter learned from Fuling Mexin Wine Town that during the National Day holiday, its “climbing elevator” was put into trial operation. Such elevator has a length of about 200 meters, and it was mainly used for the round-trip operation between the top and foot of Jigong Mountain, each car can carry 4 persons, and it was the only way which must be passed when tourists transfer among and to ropeway Line 1, Line 6 & Line 7.
Different from the common climbing escalators and vertical elevators, the “climbing elevator” looks like a “roller coaster”, its running speed is also relatively slow, so it is jokingly called by tourists as “roller coaster for cowards”. The original hiking trip of about 200m up the mountain trail can now be reached in just over 3 minutes by this elevator.
According to the relevant person in charge of the scenic spot, from the ropeway Line 6 & 7 to the top of Jigong Mountain to transfer to ropeway Line 1, tourists need to climb a section of the hiking trail equivalent to be more than 300 steps, the mountain road is relatively steep and it is not very convenient for the elderly and children. The “climbing elevator” put into use, not only can greatly shorten the tourists’ transfer time so that everyone can enjoy the “painless climbing” experience, but also provide a more relaxed and convenient transfer option for the elderly and children.
“This climbing elevator is very friendly to the middle-aged and elderly tourists like me.” Mr. Shi, a tourist, was full of praise after the experience. It is understood that it was the fourth day that this elevator was put into trial operation, many tourists had come to experience, some tourists praised the climbing elevator as “the gospel for the middle-aged and elderly tourists”, and many tourists regarded it as a “gentle roller coaster”.
