The extended hours will be in effect from September 30 to October 5, according to a statement released by Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group.

Extended operating hours

During this period, Lines 1, 2, 3, 6, and 10 will extend their operating times by one hour for four key routes and sections with high passenger volumes. The Loop Line will also extend its service by 30 minutes to help disperse nighttime traffic.

At the same time, train intervals will be adjusted during these extended hours. Lines 1, 2, 3, and 6 will run at 8-10 minute intervals, while the Loop Line and Line 10 will have slightly longer intervals of 10-12 minutes.

Between October 6 and 7, Line 2, Line 6, and the International Expo Line will be shortened to 4 minutes, 5 minutes and 20 seconds, and 10 minutes to manage the increased festival traffic.

Optimized routes

Starting from 15:00 on September 30 to October 7, Line 1 will run an extended route between Chaotianmen and Bishan to better serve passengers traveling to and from the University Town area.

From October 1 to 5, after 16:30, some trains on Line 6 will turn back at Guangdianyuan to reduce intervals in core areas, ensuring smoother passenger flow in busy commercial districts.

Increased train services

On September 30, the maximum number of trains in operation will be increased to 335, up by 4 compared to regular weekdays, with the estimated network capacity of 5.95 million passengers, reflecting an increase of 430,000 compared to normal days.
