CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to the Transport Commission of Yuzhong District, the passenger water route from Chaotianmen (Hongyadong) to Jianchuan in Jiulongpo (Haijiang Museum) is expected to open to navigation at the end of this month.
Connecting the Yuzhong Penisula, embraced by two rivers in Chongqing at one end, with Jiulong Penisula at the other end, this route is called the “Peninsula Ferry”.
The route, 12 km long in total, takes about 40-60 minutes. Departing from Hongyadong Wharf in Yuzhong, the ferry travels upstream along the Yangtze River. Along the way, tourists can enjoy sights like the Yangtze River Cableway, Huguang Guild Hall, Nanbin Road, Shanhuba, Jiulong Riverside Park, No. 166 Destroyer, etc., as well as the beauty of 6 magnificent river-crossing bridges.
It is learned that in recent years, the Transport Commission of Yuzhong District, has prioritized the integrative development of “navigation and tourism”, and leveraging on its geographical advantage at the confluence of two rivers and the accessibility of waterway, to establish a multi-layered and diverse water tourism service system.
Currently, Yuzhong District has opened several water sightseeing ferry routes such as routes from Chaotianmen (Hongyadong) to Ciqikou, Fengxituo along Jialing River; routes from Chaotianmen (Hongyadong) to Jiangbeizui, Danzishi and Guangyang Island. The launch of the “Peninsula Ferry” route marks another major step in connecting Yuzhong District to Jiulongpo District by water, following its earlier connections to Shapingba District, Jiangbei District, Yubei District, and Nan’an District.
Next, the Transport Commission of Yuzhong District will continue to innovate its water tourism transport products and establish a high-quality water tourism transport system. (Translated by Jane, Fathom Language Limited)
