According to information, this Exhibition is organized around three academic themes. The first traces the artistic exchange between Chinese masters who studied in France during the 20th century, from early artists like Xu Beihong and Lin Fengmian to figures after the founding of the People’s Republic China, like Wu Guanzhong, and more contemporary artists like Huang Yongping, Yang Jiecang, and Shen Yuan. The second theme explores the perspectives of French artists and cultural workers residing in China, as well as Chinese artists and cultural workers based in France, highlighting their transnational connections. The third theme focuses on art academies and education since the 20th century, emphasizing their role as platforms for cultural exchange and the internationalization of art through collaboration and interaction.
