CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- To support Liangjiang New Area in becoming a pioneer in developing the low-altitude economy in Chongqing, Mingyue Lake has once again set a new standard in the field of low-altitude flight with the successful maiden flight of a long-endurance drone featuring "dual-energy hybrid power."

Recently, the first solar and hydrogen-powered drone in China developed independently by Yixiang Drone Team under the Chongqing Research Institute of Harbin Institute of Technology, successfully completed its maiden flight at Mingyue Lake.

The successful flight of the "dual-energy hybrid powered" drone indicates the official debut of China’s first innovative energy system developed by the Yixiang Drone Team, which perfectly combines solar energy and hydrogen energy, which will significantly enhance the drone's endurance and environmental protection performance.

It is learned that this drone is equipped with a self-developed solar-powered voltage-direct-drive system, a solar-hydrogen hybrid powered system, a large-size long-wing aerodynamic shape, an integrated lightweight carbon fiber fuselage, a coaxial dual-propeller drive system, and an innovative hydrogen-powered electric propulsion pod. It is designed with compact fuselage structure and simple auxiliary components, making cruising with low energy consumption and day-and-night continuous flight with ultra-long endurance possible.
