Animals of Chongqing Zoo enjoy exclusive mid-autumn mooncakes

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On September 17, coinciding with the Mid-autumn Festival, Chongqing Zoo prepared exclusive mid-autumn mooncakes for the animals according to their food habits.

Animal caretakers introduced that the most important ingredients of these special exclusive mooncakes are the food that the animals usually eat, plus some fresh fruits. Among them, the panda mooncake consists of mixed grain, bamboo shoots and apples; the hippopotamus mooncake consists of mixed grain, watermelon, apples, carrots and pumpkin; the lesser panda mooncake consists of mixed grain, pumpkin, carrots, apples and bananas; and the golden monkey mooncake consists of mixed grain, green vegetable, carrots, apples, bananas, peanuts and eggs.

In the face of colorful and fragrant mooncakes, the appetite of the animals was also mobilized, and they had a feast, attracting many visitors to watch. “We came all the way from Shanxi just to see the pandas and other animals in Chongqing Zoo and have an unforgettable Mid-Autumn Festival with them.” Ms. Xu with her family celebrating the festival at Chongqing Zoo.
