Chongqing exported 2.21 million motorcycle in the first half year, ranking first in China

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On September 12, 2024 China Motorcycle Chongqing Forum was held at Chongqing Yuelai International Convention Center. According to reports, Chongqing exported 2.214 million motorcycle in the first half year, ranking first in China, and Chongqing motorcycle production is expected to exceed 6 million motorcycles, with the output value of more than 100 billion yuan, of which more than 2 million electric motorcycles will be produced.

According to reports, Chongqing currently has 43 finished motorcycle manufacturers, more than 400 parts and components supporting enterprises above state designated scale, forming an annual output of 10 million finished motorcycles and a comprehensive production capacity of 20 million engines, as well as the engine frame, instrumentation, and other major assemblies complete production capacity.

“In the first half of this year, Chongqing produced about 3 million motorcycles, with a year-on-year growth rate of 15.1%, accounting for 31.4% of the total in China, and realizing an output value of 45.5 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth rate of 8.3%.” Tu Xingyong, Deputy Director of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information, said that Chongqing Zonsen, Yinxiang and other enterprises have ranked among the top 10 fuel motorcycle sales enterprises in China for many years, and the three leading electric motorcycle enterprises, Aima, Yadea and TAILG, have also laid out the development in Chongqing.

At the Forum, Li Bin, Executive Vice President of China Chamber of Commerce for Motorcycle, revealed that in recent years, domestic fuel motorcycle production and domestic sales have shown a year-on-year decline, while exports have shown steady growth. From January to July this year, China exported more than 4.8 million motorcycles, with a year-on-year growth rate of 27.82%, accounting for 54.3% of the total sales.
