CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A flag donation ceremony was held in Chongqing on September 12, where the Tiananmen Management Committee of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality presented a national flag to the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum (Chongqing Museum).
The donated flag numbered 2021-0068 is the Five-Starred Red Flag raised at Tiananmen Square on June 18, 2021. This flag holds great symbolic value as it marks two significant milestones: the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the anniversary of Chongqing becoming a municipality directly under the Central Government. With its historical importance, the flag will play a key role in promoting the founding spirit of the Communist Party and sharing Chongqing's rich story.
A representative from the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum emphasized that, as an important institution dedicated to the preservation, research, and display of Chongqing’s cultural heritage and the Three Gorges area, the museum will carefully preserve and showcase this special flag as a centerpiece for patriotic education in compliance with regulations such as the Law of the People's Republic of China on the National Flag and the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Cultural Relics. The museum aims to further enrich its collection and expand its educational impact, preserving the ‘red gene’ and continuing the traditions that honor China's revolutionary history.
The flag will now be on permanent display at the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum and will be prominently featured during significant national events and educational programs. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
