CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- "Come and check it out! We have a real plane here!" Chongqing Hailian Vocational Technical College’s Liangjiang Campus welcomed its first wave of new students on September 11. Among the highlights were the fully customized Boeing 737-700 passenger aircraft sitting in front of the T1 teaching building on campus.

The aircraft, a retired civil aviation jet, was purchased by the college to give students in specialized programs, like air cabin crew and civil aviation security, a unique and practical training space.

“Having a real aircraft as a training venue provides students with an authentic, hands-on experience,” said Ou Xiuli, Director of the Air Cabin Crew Department’s Teaching and Research Office. “It helps them excel in courses such as cabin service and management. Beyond regular classes, the plane will also serve as a venue for skills competitions and as a research base.”

Parents were equally impressed. “Learning in such an environment is a game changer,” said Mr. Zhou, a parent who marveled at the sight of the aircraft. “Even though it’s retired, I can imagine how expensive it must have been. The school has really gone above and beyond for the students.”

Meanwhile, a lively atmosphere filled the campus orientation area, where various student organizations and clubs eagerly set up tents and displayed posters, inviting new students to explore their options. From etiquette displays to tea art demonstrations, the array of activities showcased the vibrant and diverse campus life awaiting the incoming students.
