CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- As part of the foreign affairs brand event "@Chongqing @World" organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, some journalists from various African countries, who participated in the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, visited Chongqing from September 6 to 10. This is the largest African media delegation to visit Chongqing in recent years.

During their stay in Chongqing, the media delegation, through visits and exchanges, covered the achievements made by Chongqing in economic and social development, opening-up and cooperation, especially the practice of Chongqing in China-Africa cooperation form various perspectives like urban planning, industrial ecology, traditional culture, grass-roots governance and international communication.

The first stop of their visit was the Chongqing Planning Exhibition Gallery, where they visited themed exhibition areas such as "Preface Hall," "Natural Landscapes," "Famous Historic and Cultural City," "Master Plan," "High-quality Development," "High-quality Life," and "Inland Opening-up Highland", and learned the mountains and rivers, local customs and practices, and development history of Chongqing through various display formats, including flat display board, multimedia screens, interactive platforms, models, and recovered scenes.

In the afternoon, the media delegation strolled through Mountain City Alley, savored the local tea culture, enjoyed the face-changing performance of Sichuan opera, experiencing the charm of traditional Chinese culture. They also visited the scenery of monorail passing through a building at CRT Liziba Station to marvel at Chongqing's unique and "magical" transportation system.

In recent years, Chongqing has actively developed new quality productive forces. During this visit, the media delegation also visited the Haifu Technology Industrial Park to learn about HIFU technology. The high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) tumor treatment equipment, independently developed by Chongqing Haifu (HIFU) Technology Co., Ltd., has been exported to multiple African countries such as Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria, and Tanzania for treating patients with both benign and malignant tumors.

It is learned that in the coming days, the media delegation will visit Dazu to learn about Chongqing’s intangible cultural heritage; feel the modern agriculture at the Chongqing Modern Agriculture High-tech Park; learn about new energy applications at the Changan Auto Global Research and Development Center and Chongqing Yadi Technology Co., Ltd., experience automatic driving at Baidu Apollo Information Technology (Chongqing) Co., Ltd.; watch virtual filming at Yongchuan Technology film site and experience the technology empowered intelligent life; learn about the achievements made by Chongqing through active participation in the Belt and Road Initiative at the Chongqing Inland International Inland Logistics Hub Exhibition Center; and learn out the beneficial experiences and practices in grassroots governance at the Shiyou Community in Dashiba Sub-district, Jiangbei District.
